Your relationships can make or break you.
Learn how to build genuine business connections [online + offline] with people who can recommend your work, collaborate with you, hire you, and open new doors.
A five-week live online course for creative business owners.
“Self-made Millionaires” are a myth. No one becomes a millionaire all alone. They made good connections. It’s all about having good connections.
You can post every day and still feel invisible because creative businesses don’t grow through content alone. They grow through trust, conversations, recommendations, introductions, and shared ideas.
The internet has made us believe that if we post often enough, we can build successful businesses entirely by ourselves. But behind every lasting creative career is a network of people who share opportunities, make introductions, recommend one another, and create things together.
In this course, you’ll learn the same ways that I have used for over twenty years to make connections, start collaborations, get press mentions, start new projects, and land exciting contracts with respectable brands - with a behind-the-scenes look at exactly how I do it, and how I’ve done it, since launching my own creative brand in 2006.
It begins with another person.
Over five weeks, I’ll help you stop trying to grow your creative business entirely by yourself and start building the relationships that lead to new ideas, introductions, collaborations, clients, visibility, and real opportunities.
Together, we’ll start the way that I did - by identifying the people you genuinely want in your professional world, make connecting feel natural again, develop collaboration ideas that benefit everyone involved, and create a practical plan for continuing to grow your network after the course ends.
You’ll get:
A clear map of the relationships your business needs to grow
The people, brands, and businesses to approach
Personal outreach you can actually send
A collaboration concept you’re ready to propose
90-day plan for growing through relationships
New connections inside the course itself via our new community
Five weeks of live training
Five weeks of consistent forward-moving action, conversation, and accountability
A completely different way to think about growing online
You don’t need to make social media a full-time job or to become louder. I do 75% less on social media now than I ever have in my entire career, yet contracts and opportunities still come to me.
You need to become better connected. I will help you.
You have experience and ideas. You love what you create.
Maybe you have a wonderful body of work. Perhaps you have products, services, a course that’s ready to launch, a newsletter, a Substack, even a shop or studio. Or, you may be a content creator for many years or even a well-known book author or brand. But things are slowing down - you are full of energy but doors aren’t opening the same as they once did.
What now? Post more? Start using yet another social media platform? Invest in ads?
You feel like everything depends on you.
You post more. You create a content calendar. You watch what everyone else is doing. You try to understand the algorithm (good luck!). Maybe you go on TikTok or another app you’ve never even tried before. And still, you wonder…
Why isn’t this moving faster? Does anyone see me? Will this convert into sales? How can I get ahead here?
The answer may not be that you need better content or that you need to post more frequently, appear on more platforms, or reinvent your brand.
You may simply need more people around you who get you, remember your name, want to share your work, recommend you, hire you, introduce you, interview you, invite you, or make something with you.
That is how creative careers are built. Not alone. Together.
When I started decor8 in 2006, blogging was very generous. We shared people we admired, linked to their work, introduced our readers to new artists, shops, books, ideas, and fellow creatives. Remember the blog roll?
We were not only creating content. We were circulating attention. And that created connection.
A mention could lead to an email, friendship, introduction, commission, press mention, or a collaboration. Sharing someone else’s work never felt like it diminished our own. It was a very circular, interdependent system.
Then came Instagram, which was focused on personal brands, visibility, and holding attention.
We went from WE to ME.
But creative careers are still built through WE.
Your business, art, side hustle… doesn’t require you to be known by everyone and have 100k followers. It needs you to have the right people in your corner who know what you do and to think of you when an opportunity appears.
We can reach hundreds of people with a single post, yet so many creative business owners are sitting behind their screens trying to build everything by themselves. We follow one another, publish constantly, and now use AI to produce more words and images than ever, but more content does not automatically create more trust - or make us feel any less alone.
AI can help you clarify an idea or write a message, but it cannot believe in your work, invite you into a room, or recommend you because it knows what you can do. Those moments still happen between people, and as the online world becomes more automated, they will only become more valuable.
Your ability to build genuine trust may be the greatest advantage your business has.
You already know how to create, and I don’t want you sitting alone with all of that talent, wondering why your business isn’t moving forward. I created CONNECT, COLLABORATE & GROW! to help you build a circle of people around your work - not through awkward networking or impersonal pitches, but through warmth, generosity, and genuine interest in others.
Over four weeks, I will help you recognize the relationships that could support your next chapter, reconnect with people you may have lost touch with, introduce yourself with confidence, and develop collaboration ideas that feel exciting and valuable to everyone involved. We will also look honestly at what you bring to the table, because connection isn’t only about asking for something; it is about becoming someone others are happy to know, recommend, and work with.
My hope is that you finish this course feeling less alone, more confident, and already in motion - with real conversations begun and new possibilities opening around you.
Why work with me?
I founded decor8 in 2006, and over the past 20 years, I’ve built and sustained a creative career spanning interiors, publishing, photography, education, content, product development, brand partnerships, and consulting.
I’ve written four internationally bestselling books published in 20 languages, taught more than 10,000 students around the world, created courses and creative communities, consulted with founders, collaborated with international brands, developed products - including the Purist rug collection for Tisca - and built a global audience of more than 1.5 million.
I don’t advise creative business owners from theory. I’ve spent two decades making ideas commercially viable, learning how to position and sell creative work, adapting to enormous changes in media and business, and recognizing when it was time for my own work to evolve.
My career has never followed one neat, straight line.
I know what it means to have several interests, abilities, and income streams and wonder how they belong together. I also know what it feels like to outgrow work that once fit beautifully and face the question of what should replace it.
One of my strongest abilities is recognizing the potential in people and their ideas. I can step into someone’s creative world, understand what they’ve built, notice the connections and opportunities they may be missing, and identify what could become more valuable, visible, and profitable.
There is something powerful about having the right person look at everything you’ve created and say, “Here. This is the red thread. This is what I see…and this is what I believe you can do with it.”
I’m not here to hand you a formula or turn your business into a copy of someone else’s. My role is to recognize what is distinctive and commercially valuable in what you have already built, then help you shape it into a direction that is entirely your own - and strong enough to move your business forward.
Things I can help you with
I’ve helped clients recognize the commercial potential in what they know and turn it into work that people are willing to pay for. One client developed and launched a membership that generated 150k during its first week. Another earned 85k from an online course we created and launched together (she has an Instagram following of 4k and no mailing list).
These results began with more than an exciting idea. We identified something valuable, shaped it into a strong offer, positioned it for the right audience, and made thoughtful decisions about how to bring it into the world.
Depending on what your business needs most, we might work together to:
Identify your strongest commercial opportunity and decide which idea is worth pursuing now
Develop a profitable new offer based on your knowledge, experience, audience, and strengths
Strengthen an existing offer through better positioning, pricing, structure, or messaging
Understand why something isn’t selling and determine what needs to change before you invest more time or money in it
Position your work at the level of your experience so people can understand what you do, why it matters, and why they should choose you
Create new revenue opportunities through a course, service, membership, workshop, retreat, book, product, licensing agreement, collaboration, or brand partnership
Bring several interests or income streams together so the business feels coherent without forcing you into one narrow identity
Strengthen a pitch or proposal for a client, publisher, brand, or potential collaborator
Decide what deserves your attention over the next 90 days and what is draining time without producing meaningful movement
I’ll go beyond the immediate question and consider the full picture: your experience, audience, reputation, ambitions, existing offers, income goals, and the life your business needs to support. My purpose is to identify the right opportunity, strengthen its commercial potential, and give you a considered strategy for moving it forward.
“Working with Holly changed the trajectory of my life.”
Working with Holly changed the trajectory of my life. When I came to her, I had two passions I couldn't seem to bring together: personal development and spirituality on one side, creativity on the other. They lived in separate parts of me, and I couldn't find a way to connect them.
Holly helped me bridge that gap.
Through her mentorship, she didn't just help me find clarity - she helped me uncover the idea that would become my business: a training program for Mindful Creative Coaches. It was something I never would have imagined on my own, yet the moment she reflected it back to me, I knew it was mine.
Because of that work, I found the courage to leave the security of my teaching career and begin creating a more independent, self-directed life in Mallorca.
What makes Holly exceptional is her ability to see what others miss. She listens beneath the surface, recognizes the gifts and possibilities you may not yet see in yourself, and helps bring them into focus. She has a remarkable way of uncovering what feels most true and helping you build a meaningful path forward.
I am deeply grateful for her guidance and wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone who feels called toward something bigger, more aligned, and more authentic. If you have the opportunity to work with Holly, take it.
