Peace Industry

Thanks to decor8 reader, Scott from LA, for suggesting his favorite San Francisco based rug gallery, Peace Industry.

Here's a glimpse of their storefront:
...and showroom:

Peace Industry offers oodles of fantastic modern and traditional style rugs that are as affordable (considering how they are made), as they are head turning beauties. My favorites are from their Melina Raisnnia felt collection, a collaboration between master Iranian felt-maker, Asghar Aliyari, and painter, Melina Raissnia. Each rug is handmade using natural shades of wool and vegetable dyes.

If you'd like to view a 15 minute documentary all about the felt making process, you can do that here. I found it extremely fascinating to see how much labor really goes into these beautiful creations.

Here's some of my favorites. What do you think?

sun spiral, $590
butterfly, $1,480.
pile, $1,435.
fallen palm, $1,375.
brake, $615
spill, $615
