Garage Sale: Consignment for the Home, Boston

While strolling the South End, I came across Garage Sale, a store I'd never wandered into until now. Located on 55 Waltham Street, Leslie Kaplan holds down a good size fort of beautiful finds from fancy chinoserie cachepots to antique Gustavian guilded mirrors, baroque style chandeliers, french antique furniture, and oh yes, even some modern finds from Eames chairs to Danish buffets. The store is quite eclectic to say the least, I'm confident that you'll spot something worth blowing your paycheck on.

Their website isn't much to browse (one page!), but don't turn away based simply on their lack of a strong web presence. Having a good website isn't everything, I've seen some pretty good websites only to walk into a bare, boring store. Where this shop lacks online, more than makes up for it in thier retail space. Next time you stroll the streets of the charming South End, pop into Garage Sale.

psst: Daily Candy wrote about this last year, read their blurb here.
