Du Buh Du Designs {art dolls}

Dolls on decor8! Nah, not really my thing as I keep my toys to myself. I'm not about to start blogging them (I can only imagine the volume of email flying in from toy stores in about 5 seconds) but when dolls go beyond toy to qualify as a piece of art, I'll take a look. If you're open-minded to art in all it's forms, you may enjoy this dolly artist. It's almost like characters in a painting leaped off of the canvas to visit us in all their 3-d glory. They're not really for the kids, more for collectors looking to display a few in the home. Each is handmade and one-of-a-kind deserving lots of TLC.

The dolls are made by Christine Alvarado of Du Buh Du Designs and I found out about her mere minutes ago over on Katie's blog. After reading about the process involved in creating a single art doll I was curious to learn more about this creative lady. Christine is an artist living in Oregon with a background in fine art, calligraphy, sculpture, printmaking and has two degrees, one in Photography and the other in Graphic Design. It seems all her experience is paying off as all talents have merged into the perfect art form for her - dolls! They're so beautiful and I hope that you enjoy them as much as I do.

Psst: If you're into collections, you may enjoy this post, or this one, or my flickr group titled Creative Collections.
