Production Designer Seeks Shopping Help {Boston}

A rather interesting email arrived yesterday from a decor8 reader who has a very interesting profession as a Production Designer. She's about to take a trip up to Boston to work on a film for a couple of months (Boston is quickly becoming a huge spot for filming movies, Bruce Willis is currently in the South End), and she's not that familiar with thrift stores in the region and unable to find much help online. To give you a general understanding of her vision:

Set 1 is Tennessee Williams heroine meets The Paris Apartment: not so much big budget as feminine, collected and homespun.

Set 2 is Sanford and Son meets backwoods: junk furniture, fix-it projects never finished, taxidermy.

Artifaktori may be a good spot.

She is looking for some not-so-expensive vintage finds. She loves flea markets and Goodwill and Salvation Army and she is not opposed to a bit of a splurge but generally tends to buy a lot at bargain prices with a few expensive things thrown in if she feels that they are important to the character.

Does anyone have tips for her? Thrift shopping in Boston?
