Glossy Concrete Moulding - Dax van Son

I love the idea of using materials that are often neglected or not viewed as pretty or desirable to create things that are. Like concrete. Very few think of concrete as a beautiful material. Driveway, foundation, walls - those things come to mind - but hardly the word beautiful. "Glossy Concrete Moulding" is a project from designer Dax van Son who has set out to change the way we look at and use concrete. Here he used a material that few experiment with on this level - transforming it into either bowls or vases that look like satiny, glazed earthenware. Or as moulding that is available in every color imaginable, and because it is extremely dense and dirt repellent, it is suitable for nearly everything from street furniture to wall tiles.
