Purist

Step onto serenity.

When I began designing Purist, I wasn’t interested in creating rugs that were simply beautiful. I wanted them to change the feeling of a room - to soften it, calm it down, provide some quiet, and make it feel warmer and more grounded.

For me, a beautiful home is not simply something we see. We experience it through texture, warmth, color, light, and the feeling of the materials beneath our feet. I knew the Purist needed to feel calming and minimal, never cold, and deeply human.

Created together with Tisca, Purist is a sensory exploration of simplicity, emotion, and natural beauty. The collection grew from my interest in the psychology of interior design and sensory living: how the things we surround ourselves with influence the way we feel in our homes and within ourselves.

The collection includes 8 designs, blending wool, jute, linen, and organic fibers into warm, minimalist forms influenced by Scandinavian and Japanese aesthetics. Soft checkerboards, tonal stripes, and subtle blocks of color move through a palette of creamy neutrals, earthy clays, and muted desert tones.

I named each rug after a feeling - an invitation to slow down, reflect, and create a more meaningful connection to the place you call home.

A new vision.

I’ve spent more than twenty years thinking, writing, and speaking about the emotional connection we have with our homes. I’ve always believed that interiors should do more than look beautiful. They should support us, comfort us, and give us a place where we can truly exhale.

Purist is my first rug collection with Tisca and a very personal expression of that belief.

Together, we explored the relationship between form, feeling, and natural texture. We wanted to create rugs with a strong design identity, but also with warmth, honesty, and a quiet presence - pieces that can live with you for many years without overwhelming the room.

This collection brings together Tisca’s extraordinary craftsmanship and my own sensory approach to interiors. It is where thoughtful design meets the deeply human desire to feel at home.

Exploring emotion through design.

Each design in Purist begins with a feeling.

The rugs are handwoven from natural wool, linen, and organic fibers, with subtle variations in texture, pattern, and color. Soft checkerboards create rhythm, tonal stripes bring gentle structure, and carefully placed blocks of color help ground a room.

I wanted the collection to feel understated, tactile, sculptural, and timeless. These are rugs that quietly hold a space together while bringing warmth and softness underfoot.

A little about me…

I’m Holly Becker, an interior and product designer, bestselling interiors author, photographer, and the founder of decor8.

For more than twenty years, I have explored how our surroundings affect the way we live and feel. My work brings together European, American, and Scandinavian influences with a warm, sensory approach to modern living.

Through decor8, my books, online courses, speaking engagements, and design practice, I’ve had the privilege of connecting with over 1.5 million design lovers around the world. My four books have been published in more than twenty languages.

Today, my work continues to center around soulful interiors, meaningful creative living, and the design of spaces and products that feel as good as they look.

The collection.

Every Purist pattern can be ordered in a custom size and personalized using a choice of over 100 colors. Each rug is handmade in Europe and requires approximately 6-8 weeks to create.

BALANCE. Where structure meets ease.

A rhythmic checkerboard pattern woven in soft cream and natural wool brings quiet energy to the floor. Balance offers a sense of harmony, its squares ground the room while allowing space for life to unfold. A design for those who seek both steadiness and flow in their surroundings, with a touch of playfulness.

CLARITY. A structured pattern of calm.

Checkerboard creates rhythm and order, offering a visual pause in the midst of daily life. Handwoven in soft cream wool, Clarity brings subtle strength to the room, balancing contrast with cohesion, and structure with softness. A rug for finding space, intention, and a moment to relax and discover what matters most.

HARMONY. A tactile dialogue between wool and linen.

Subtle bands of shifting texture bring together two natural materials in quiet conversation. Harmony is a study in contrast, soft and structured, smooth and textured, matte and luminous. Designed to ground a space while inviting gentle reflection, it speaks to the beauty of differences woven together with care.

ALIGN. A quiet foundation.

With its fine linear weave and subtle tonal shifts, Align invites order, presence, and calm. The restrained design is minimal yet grounded, anchored by a gentle vertical band that adds structure without distraction.

EVOLVE. Texture in motion for the floor or wall.

With rising loops and a shifting surface, Evolve brings a quiet energy to the room, symbolizing change, growth, and softness through touch. It invites you to slow down, connect with your senses, and embrace the beauty of becoming. Evolve is a tactile reminder that evolution and change can lead to something deeply beautiful.

RENEW. A gentle return to yourself.

The “new” neutrals, Renew brings together sage green, soft mauve and sandy brown all framed within a border of muted gray-lilac. Renew is an invitation to release the weight of what’s passed and step lightly into what’s next, a quiet reminder that even the smallest changes can lead to the most meaningful transformations.

UNITY. The beauty of finding common ground.

With its warm earthy stripe bridging cream and sand, Unity is a study in connection. The contrast is gentle, the transition seamless, a reminder that strength and beauty often come from what we share.

ROOTED. Held by the earth.

Woven in warm cream, caramel, and rust, Rooted carries the strength and warmth of the natural world. Its rich texture and grounding palette offer a sense of belonging, a reminder that creating a cozy home is not just about aesthetics, but a feeling that comes from where you stand today, where you’ve been, and where you’re going.
